Water is one of the most destructive forces on the planet. If you have a plumbing leak, a roof leak, or any other water damage give us a call.

SERVPRO Tackles Fast Water Removal from Orlando Kitchen

This part of Florida has high humidity throughout the year ranging from 74% to 90% on average. When a home has water damage, because of the elevated humidity levels, the development of mold is a significant concern and cleanup should happen as fast as possible.

SERVPRO handled water damage in an Orlando home's kitchen where a  supply line to a refrigerator had broken. The homeowner had shut off the water and pulled the fridge away from the wall and found the cleanup was bigger than mopping alone could clean up.

When our technicians arrived on-site, we immediately extracted the water damage around the area where the fridge sat. Thermal imaging showed high moisture in the wall behind the appliance, which pointed towards a slow leak for a prolonged period. The sheetrock showed no signs of mold but did show signs of buckling and was cut away several inches above the water line to let air flow dry the wall cavity.

SERVPRO technicians spend extra time on the extraction and scoping the location of water-affected areas before the drying phase. This action allows our drying and dehumidification equipment to reduce moisture quickly enabling the fast attainment of drying goals.

Our drying equipment is not a fan blowing air in a wet room. The way air movers work is rooted in science, and the setup of them is unique to each location we work on. They expel high-velocity airflow and is carefully angled over surfaces. This technique causes embedded water vapor to rise where our dehumidifying equipment captures and removes it. After drying the kitchen and our equipment confirmed the water loss areas attained drying goals, we cleaned the surfaces and used antifungal solutions to inhibit mold growth.

Contact SERVPRO of West Orange at (407) 352-1569 when you need water removal. We can handle cleanup and restoration for a single area in a room or a whole house flood because We're Faster to Any Size Disaster.
